Hockley Flyover Art Attack

In April 2020 we worked with our friends at Ghost Streets to conceive and design a community arts consultation for their exciting Hockley Flyover Project. The project is seeking to engage local communities with the iconic A41 overpass at Hockley Circus, and to re-imagine how the spaces might be used.
Although we had originally planned to deliver art workshops in Hockley, lockdown necessitated a change of plan.

We designed a series of postcards on which members of the locality and wider Birmingham area were invited to draw, write, stitch, collage or doodle their thoughts and ideas for how the spaces around the flyover might be transformed, reinvigorated and restored. All of the images were then be collected together to create an online digital mural, that will help give voice to collective community ideas about Hockley Flyover.
