We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded funding from the wonderful Postcode Community Trust to support a regular, free, drop-in Art Club for adults at Stirchley Library! A huge thank you to players of the People's Postcode Lottery who have made this project possible.
Art Club takes place on two or three Fridays every month (with an occasional Tuesday or Thursday session here and there) from 12-2pm. It provides space and opportunity for adults with all levels of experience who want to get creative, develop their own artistic practice, and learn new skills in a welcoming and friendly environment. Each session will feature high quality art and craft activities taught by a professional art educator with all materials provided. Check out our Facebook page for upcoming dates: www.facebook.com/ArtStirchley.
The workshops and events on the flyer below are for the second of three phases, 'Fill a Book'. This includes a course of five workshops during the day on Mondays, a shorter version of the same course happening over three Saturdays, and a rubber stamping workshop with artist Stephen Fowler. We will also be running supportive drop-in and family events during this time. Places are limited, but very low cost (and free to unwaged). Events for phase 3, 'Change a Book' will be advertised in coming months. Running alongside 'Fill a Book' and 'Change a Book' will be the Stirchley Art Room Sketchbook Circle, a sketchbooking project for adults of all abilities which involves regularly exchanging books with partners and working in a collaborative way. More information (and a clearer explanation) can be found on the flyer at the bottom of this page.
